.. though I never expected to post often here, I was hoping I’d produce a new piece of work at least once a month? So much for that idea.
But I do have a good excuse! A lot of things have been happening in my life
First is work, which up until recently was literally sucking up the majority of my time :O I’m so grateful to have some what of a life back!
Next is Manifest, this year I’ll not only be judging the competitions, I’ll be hosting a panel on make up application. If you would like to attend, tickets can be purchased here! I’m creating two new costumes, both with massive props! With only 5 weeks left, I need all the luck I can get
Also if you don’t read the newspaper or don’t live in Melbourne, you probably didn’t see me on the cover of The Age’s M Magazine
Who interviewed me over my life as a cosplayer! Was an awesome experience I will never forget~
The other project I’ve been working on is Fables in Fashion, my beauty / fashion blog. It may not seem like it, but quite a bit of planning and time goes into each of my entries, especially the weekly Lookbook series. But I love love love fashion and makeup. If I didn’t love web design so much, I’d be a fashion designer.
Piano lessons have been put on hold for 1-2 months (piano teacher has personal matters to attend to), which frees up a bit more time for me to focus on all the above. But potentially searching for a new teacher / attending a music school may become an option if I don’t hear back in the coming months as I’d like to eventually get my Diploma and perhaps move on to a Musicianship/Degree?
And of course there is freelancing. I do it for the love, I do it for the love! Honestly, if I didn’t freelance, I’m not sure when I’d be able to make myself do any web design
So as painful as it can be to deal with clients, I’m still happy to do what I can, when I can~ Some exciting new designs in the works
And there you have it! My life in a nutshell, seems hectic, but aside from work, life is magically and I’m loving everything (exhausting) second. I only have one life, and I intend to make the most of it <3

Honestly I’m feeling a bit meh about this layout, it’s a bit too blocky and simple. I desperately want to change it, watch me work like lighting </sarcasm>
Since working full-time, I’ve been neglecting my passion in web design for a while now. Despite being in the IT industry, most of my day to day work doesn’t actually include much, if any web design (excluding freelancing), so there really isn’t an opportunity to expand and learn.
One of the reasons I continued to freelance despite landing a full time job was the hope that it would not only help maintain my current level of web skills, but improve them. How wrong I was. Thanks to having a full-time job, I couldn’t afford to take on big clients, which meant the clients I worked with only wanted very simple small scaled sites.
This year I’ve decided to stop freelancing, and start learning. I’m going to be using my free time to work on my own websites and create my own art, and I plan to throw video editing into the mix too.
I have to admit, I’m feeling pretty excited about the idea of working my way back and hopefully surpassing the days when I was able to enter design competitions

The title rings true for me. I intend to getting things done perfectly first time round, but as we all know, that’s impossible. So what happens? I procrastinate. I’ll finally mow the lawn once I find a cutter that suits me, or I’ll get my blog started as soon as I create a design I love. And I’ll create that design once I upgrade my Photoshop to the latest version. Excuses, excuses, excuses!
I’m feeling refresh and energised after my few weeks away from home, and I’m taking advantage of my current state of mind to finally start up this blog. And instead of waiting around till I come up with the perfect design, I just grabbed a free online theme and altered it to suit my needs. Layout? Done! No more excuses.
This blog will centre on my personal growth in the IT industry and the triumphs and troubles I face. Most important, I write for me, to document my journey, to record any interesting finds I stumble across, to display my latest works, to talk about how I manage the many distractions and pitfalls life throws at us. And hey, if one or two other people find it interesting, score!
